Its been exactly 3 months and 14 days since I last updated. Quite a bit has happened since then as you can imagin, but I'll just give you the highlights.

I'll start with the sad news so you don't have to leave on a bad note, Dookie, my oldest hamster, died of old age. It was very sad but not entirely unexpected. She lived a long hamster life of almost four years, and wasn't in any pain or distress as far as we could see, she was still running of the wheel and eating healthily, and breathing at a normal pace. But there comes a time for all hamsters to go, sometimes a little earlier then one would have liked.

If that wasn't enough sorrow, Dakota caught a cold just a couple of days after Dookie died, and a cold on top of her broken heart couldn't be healed. She died shortly after Dookie, maybe a month at best.

Just before the tragedy of Dakota's death arose, we got a new hamster. Her name is scarface. We we're planning to find a more flattering name, but its too late now.
As you may have guessed, scarface had a lot of scars on her face when I chose her. There were many other hamsters that looks prettier then scarface, but I felt bad for her being the smallest and most bullied hamster in her pack.

As you can see by th picture I attached, scarface is a half albino, half blond hamster, with dark red eyes, a blond upper body and a white lower body. She is a very lovely hamster, but at the moment she's too scared to be held by humans, without trying to
jump away, and it will take a couple more weeks for us to gain her trust. It was the same with Dakota.

Scarface isn't photographed easily, she seems a bit confused as to what the camera is, so please forgive my out of focus or smudgy photography.

Now, I better move on to some more news. I, as you may know, am a very big Harry Potter fan, so I've decided to buy myself (and Mari) a wand from Alivan's! A small, trustworthy and well known wand making company.

I've been looking at quite a few, and have decided that the Indian Rosewood (Also know as Sheesham) wand would be really good, but I'm not 100% sure its the one for me. Its 13 3/4 inches, which is a good length for me, pretty cheap ($15.99,) and very simple. They call it The Apprentice Wand, meaning a practicing wand, which I think is needed here :P

The Apprentice Wand is handcrafted of beautiful Indian Rosewood (Sheesham) and it is just right for a young wizard or Witch's spellcasting. Also perfect for both love charms and healing this wand has wonderful overall presence.

<-- The Apprentice Wand.

But perhaps I'll get a finely carved wand with twists and curls. I'll have to ask Mari's advice on that one.

At Alivan's they also sell stuff like broomsticks and Hogwarts school uniforms and cloaks, but Isabelle has already asked to make us some cloaks, and I don't know what I'd do with a broomstick, except maybe feel the urge to clean :P

Back to normal life, I've started to cook some Vegan recipes and they're so good I never feel as though I need or want to go back to eating dairy products. My most recent creation was a rhubarb cake, as seen in the picture <--

It's really good and no one tastes the difference. Vegweb is the best vegan recipe site I've been to. One can even make Vegan chocolate cake, that's so good its eaten within a mere hour!

Anyway, I better be off now. I have websites to code, people to speak to and games to win, oh yes, and wand choosing to attend to. I'll try to update more often, until then goodbye!Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-79027199184983260082008-03-13T16:05:00.000-07:002008-06-28T05:17:54.952-07:00Over the holidays!Hey readers. Sorry I didn't update in a while. I was a little bit busy over the holidays. I made a new layout though, and as you can see I made a spring theme. I always thought spring started on the 21st of March, but some people say its now on the 1st of March. Apparently is has been brough forward due to global warming. Either way, I really did need a new layout :P

As you can see in the title, I am about to tell you what I did over this short two week holiday.
Mari got to go Skiing with our neighbor Theo and his family, so me mom and Tomas decided to do something fun as well.

First we went to Hippopotamus which is one of those resturaunts that sales loads of meat and has a lot of Americans in there, even though we're in France :P
It was very nice though. In the end we got to keep the Hippopotamus shaped swizzle sticks to mix drinks and the Hippopotamus shaped things they put in food for decoration. :)

Then a couple of days later we went to a local Nature reserve Park that only kept animals that they had saved or taken from Circuses or Zoos. most of the park is a drive through one so the animals aren't in cages, but there was some parts where you could walk around.

We saw all different kind of animals, Deer, Oxes, Elephants, Giraffs, Zebras, Lions, more deer, Hippos, Ostridges, Bears, goats, wolves, tigers, otters, snakes, red pandas, turtles, Lynxes, and loads more I'm not listing.

My favorite we're the Giraffs, hippos, tigers, Elephants and wolves, but I most likely would have liked the otters one the best if they hadn't been sleeping.

The Giraffs had these really tall pilers that had a huge cube of hay attached to them to they didn't have to bend their necks to eat. I've heard a myth that if Giraffs lower their heads to the ground, they will for some reason vomit. I always think of how long it'd, take because they're necks are so long…

"What are those rocks doing there?" you might be asking. Or at least that's what I thought at first glance. But this is none other then a family of Hippopotamus. All six (there's a hidden baby) of these Hippos are lazily sleeping in the sun. As you can see they have a huge lake to swim in, and they are obviously well fed :D

In the bear section, there was about 15 bears, most of which were black bears. There was a couple of brown bears too though.

All the bears (especially the one in the picture) reminded me of Gracie for some reason. Almost more then the wolves did. They're body language was almost identical to Gracie's even though they're so different. They did stuff like walk slowly like Gracie, Curl their paws like Gracie, smell around like Gracie and even roll around the same (though that reminded me more of Iris).

Just when you arrive at the walk-through part of the park there is this really hard and funny maze, that seems to go on forever and has loads of bridges and dead ends. There wasn't really a middle, it was more like you had to try and get onto the bridges. One could try to look for a way to another bridge standing on a bridge themselves, but I personally didn't find it did much help :P

There was also a goat petting farm where about 25 goats just lazed around being pat by people and always biting buttons, bags and shoe laces. They has these very tall logs and stumps for the goats to stand on. It always looked really odd when they got up onto them.

There were also loads of birds, small monkeys, kangaroos, tigers, more deer, rinos and much more at the walk though part, and there was a separate part that was made for the reptiles which was really cool, but for today I think I'm done with describing them :)

We may go back to the Animal Park soon, (we still didn't see the owls, monkeys, castle or gardens yet) and I'll describe the other animals then if we go. Goodnight for now, and I hope you like my new layout :DMeadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-62145172988323871032008-02-12T14:17:00.000-08:002008-03-13T18:06:55.348-07:00Can't think of title...Hey readers. Its been almost a month since I last updated, and there's not that much to talk about really :P
I've been busy with my homeschooling work, and hadn't really had much time for updating my blog. There's been a lot going on on neopets also so I've been rather busy.

Thomas and I made a new book shelf near my bed, I sort of helped Thomas with some gardening and I've also been doing some photoshop for Thomas's movie.

I spend most of the day with Mari who was home today because she had a fever. The weather has been very nice over the last couple of days and I managed to take a couple pictures of some really nice flowers growing everywhere in the garden.

Gracie and Iris have been playing in the garden a lot. Iris has become obsessed with football. She never brigs the ball back though, she just chases it and waits for me to come and kick it again. Gracie often fake fights Iris for the ball just to say "I'm the boss". :P

We captured a couple more baby mice. The problem is, they're so fast I can't ever get a good picture of them. They run so quick, they seem to vanish. I''ll post a movie of them on my next post :)

Me and Mari have been doing a lot of cooking lately (when she wasn't sick).
This pizza was suppose to be a Harry Potter pizza, but when it was put in the oven it sort of messed up a little :P
we made everything put the tomato sauce under the thin layer of cheese. Mari made the dough herself :)

I also made some cakes and pies. I forgot to take a photo of the pie though...

Thomas took Mari, her friend Theo and me to the ice skating rink on Sunday. There weren't that many people there which was good. Thomas told me that the machine that freezes the ice is the same machine as the one that makes the water in the swimming pool warm. My mom doesn't think its true though :P

I've been learning a little about Klein bottles for a while now. The Klein bottle is of course related to the Möbius strip which I find very interesting. :D

But that's all I have time for tonight. I'll update again sooner then I did before. Adn I'll probably make a new layout. until then, goodbye.Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-80343825558797424872008-01-13T11:58:00.000-08:002008-01-13T12:53:43.397-08:00I haven't updated all year...Hey everyone. Sorry I didn't update my blog over the Christmas holidays. It was pretty busy in the house and I couldn't fine the time.
Anyway, my holiday was really fun. Kelli stayed for about two weeks, and we had a lot of fun with her here. She taught us how to play some card games like poker and also showed us some cool magic tricks :P
It was really nice to have her around.

We got a family Christmas present this year. Its a lap top called a OLPC XO-1 (er…I think anyway) and because we bought it, a kid in Africa or India or somewhere gets one to help them with their education :D
You can read more about it here if you want. Its quite interesting :)

It hasn't snowed here yet, but the pond in the park did freeze over and it got pretty cold. Kelli taught us that if you throw a rock across the ice and theres an odd sort of echo when it slides, that means there is water under the ice and its not stable. A really useful trick I've found. Thomas says if it does snow it won't be until around February.

We're still trying to take down our Christmas decorations, but can't seem to do it. We trimmed the tree so it has no more branches, but still have the trunk and the lights up. As for the stockings, we stuffed them with the baubles from the tree and they don't seem to go anywhere yet. We're not sure weather to burn the wreath... and the tinsel makes such a nice reflection we can't seem to move it. But I'm sure we'll be able to do it soon... Probably the day we send off the gifts to you Jess, leah, and CJ. Which will be soon we promise :)

Anyway, Here are some links to some cool news reports and videos mom showed me. Enjoy :D

This kinda grosses me out a bit. Could you imagine finding one of these in your house? But in a way their kinda cute. I hope they don't do loads of tests and stuff on them... I hate when they do that.

A girl called Annette Obrestad beat a famous poker player Doyle Brunson in the World Series of Poker :D
She is only 19 And won £1m!
I'm glad to see a girl win :P
You can read more here.

If your boared, here are 45 Things You Can Learn Online for Free :P

I don't know if anyone needs some storage tips, but heres some if you need it :P

and that's all for tonight. I'll update again soon. Maybe in about a week or so.
Until then, bye :)Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-5326203881271631012007-12-12T13:59:00.000-08:002008-03-13T18:08:34.919-07:00Christmas is Coming!Hey, sorry I haven't updated for a while. For some reason I always seemed to have something that needed to be done until now. Anyway, here's what I've been doing over the last 12 days:

First of all we're halfway through decorating our living room with Christmas decorations. I think it looks really nice and can't wait until Christmas :P

(It looks a lot better in real life...)
If you're wondering what that odd yellowish light at the bottom of the Christmas tree is, it's a trail of slightly creepy angel lights.

Mari, Kelli and my stockings are the only stockings currently empty. We still put up Jesse, Leah, and CJ's stockings even though we know you're not coming :( They currently have two items each in them :D

Kelli is coming next Monday which will be really cool :D
We're not sure whether or not to ask Isabelle (our cleaning lady) to clean the spare room. It's really disgusting after Alain the "Zen Buddhist" slept in there. The dogs won't even go near it, so we don't really want to make Isabelle go in there...

Mari made these along with the star on the tree for the Christmas Market thing near her school. She gave the red moon to me :D
They hold candles and slowly spin. :)

Mari and I bought everyone presents at the Christmas market. Here's a picture of them all together :D

The green one at the back is Kelli's. We didn't get her any stocking fillings yet because we weren't sure what to get :P

Oh yeah, and Thomas got me and Mari some advent calenders! The chocolate in them is wonderful :D

Mari and I did some baking today. We were thinking about trying to make some gingerbread people but decided against it. We made sugar cookies that I didn't have time to take a photo of because I was reading Harry Potter to Mari and she ate the lot without my notice. I want to try and make a modern Gingerbread house though like this one (joke):

I do however actually want to learn how to make these 3D snowflakes:

There's a really cool (and complicated) ghttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifuide here.

I've read a lot of articles on how people have just discovered that animals are smarted than we think. I've read an article on Chimps,Crows and dogs.

There was a Mysterious mammal caught on film on the BBC web site. It says he/she can be found in deserts in Mongolia and China. I absolutely love their tails! I didn't notice a second ago :D

And, if you haven't had enough of my animal links,
Japanese scientists create mice with no fear of cats!

My mom gave me a link to the thing I truly would love to get for Christmas. The Tales of Beedle the Bard... Sadly its being auctioned off tonight and I've not yet saved up the £40,000 needed. I've never wanted something as much as this before... If I had it, I'd probably be too scared to let anyone else touch it :P

And sadly I have to end this post with a bit of bad news. Iris was finally fixed a couple days ago and is in a bit of pain at the moment. The worst part of it all is that she has some fleas on her that make annoying bites she now can't scratch because of her head thingy. We can't give her the flea medicine because the vet (or my mom, I can't remember) said not to.

Anyway, Thats all I have time for tonight. I have many guild members waiting for their leader and need some sleep. I'll update again soon :DMeadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-1715922340590097762007-11-30T15:45:00.000-08:002007-11-30T16:23:32.517-08:00I finished the layout!I worked for about two hours on this layout so I hope you like it! The previous one was a default one, but looked like I made it :P

Okay, moving on I did some embroidery lessons with Isabelle and here's what I've done so far:

I'm spelling Meadhbh the quicker way because its my first try. It'll be Maeve when I'm finished :D
Its all made up from a bunch little X's and lines. as you can see here:

Well anyway, I have to go to bed now. Its very late.
I'll update again soon! :DMeadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-78400338071593002512007-11-25T15:17:00.000-08:002007-11-26T08:02:02.929-08:00Neovision results...The craziest and funniest possible thing happened to me a couple of days ago. Mari and I were browsing NeoPets as we do on boring days, looking for a background to put on Mari's pet when all of the sudden we saw that the new NeoVision contest entries had been chosen. We clicked the ugly banner

and scanned the winners' list. It took us a couple of looks up and down before we saw it. We had won the NeoVision contest. TNT had actually fell for our acting and has posted it for all the Neopians to see it. Here's the proof:

I ran up the stairs, not able to breathe with laughter, and woke up mom. We went to Thomas's office to watch it. Sadly they showed this annoying advert about a toy parrot that talks then we laughed at how funny it was that out of 150,013,073 NeoPets users our video got chosen. I hate the level of work people expect from children. It's always so low... only users older than 10 can enter the NeoVision contest, so they're not all five or anything. The only way to win seems to be to act stupid and blend with the rest :P

Oh yeah, and you can watch all of the videos here.

Anyway, away from NeoPets I have had quite a fun four days. Today Mari and I watched the first Harry Potter film again today. All the characters are so small and are so bad at acting. :P It's very funny to watch. We also watched the fifth Harry Potter movie about seven times since it arrived here. :D

Thomas and I took the dogs on a longer than usual walk today. We walked up near where the hunters hunt. We realised, while coming back, that we had scared off all of the rabbits and birds with our calls, whistles and clicks to Gracie and Iris. The hunters weren't pleased :P

Mari and Thomas also bought a Christmas wreath when they browsed the selection of Christmas Trees for sale. I decorated the wreath with a bow so far :D I will be adding some bobbles when Christmas comes :)

It looks kinda fake but its real. It smells so nice :D

The cat comes inside almost daily now. He's actually sleeping on a chair at the moment :) His fur has gotten even thicker since I last posted :D

You'll all be glad to hear that the stitches in Gracie's face have been removed. She seems happier that they're gone :P

The sun sets really oddly as you can see here:

And here's a few random pictures of Iris. I find them funny. She's so cute :P

That's all for tonight I'm afraid. I'm doing some embroidery lessons with Isabelle, our cleaner, so I'll post about that soon :)
I also might do some cooking... It depends :P

Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/cat+dogs+"NeoVision+Victory"+wreath+"TNT+is+stupid"" rel="tag">cat dogs "NeoVision Victory" wreath "TNT is stupid"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-81727732339892694952007-11-21T14:20:00.000-08:002007-11-23T02:38:51.099-08:00Fake NeoVision Entry.I've been having a bit of trouble with making a new blog layout. I keep having to start over because it's wrong or doesn't look right :S
But I'll fix it soon, don't worry :P

Over the last two weeks I've started up a new NeoPets graphics site here, Mari and I beat the video game we were playing :P, I helped build my new bed, Mari and I made a fake NeoVision contest entry (more about that in a minute), I updated the pet timez, Thopmson (our cat) decided it was cold enough for him to come inside the house, the weather has gotten windy and cold, etc.

I don't think I mentioned it before but only two of the baby mice are left. They're both very healthy though, there about 3/4 the size their mother was and run around a lot. They seem very happy :D

This is my and Mari's FAKE NeoVision video. We decided to make it to test if TNT (The Neopets Team) would buy it :P
They haven't announced the winners yet :D

We're very hopeful XD

You'll all be glad to hear that Gracie's nose is fine. It didn't get infected or anything and we'll be taking out the stitches very soon. :)

That's all I have time for tonight I'm afraid. I hope you'll like the layout when I make it :P

Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/animals+dogs+mice+NeoPets+"NeoPets+Graphics"+"NeoVision+Contest"+"New+layout+to+come"+"Pirate+Cat"" rel="tag">animals dogs mice NeoPets "NeoPets Graphics" "NeoVision Contest" "New layout to come" "Pirate Cat"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-68304427388726442732007-11-07T15:42:00.000-08:002007-11-23T02:45:42.582-08:00My Birthday!Hey everyone.
As you all probably already heard it was my b-day on the 4th of November!

We ate sushi and cake! It was WAY to filling... We gave some to Théo and little Thomas.

I want to write this post as a thanks to everyone who got me a present :D

I'll start with my mom. She got me a pair or Really nice roller-skates that are so good and fast that I had to start all over again in the skate park :D They're so much better then the old ones! :P

Thomas got me a T.V. and a replacement game-cube! (Iris broke the last one :o)
I was very surprised to get two presents from mom and Thomas actually. Which makes it even more of a surprise :-D

Jesse got me a couple of really nice books and some chocolates that were extremely nice and that I have now forgotten the name of :3 I've started on one of the books but can't seem to stop! That often happens to me :P

Leah got me a really cool solar energy kit and a card so big that it won't fit in my card drawer! I can't wait to try the solar energy kit out :) Its really nice :D

Nan got me a set of nice bath soaps, a book on countries and flags and a book series on animals :)
(Tell Nan I say thanks :D)

CJ got me a very pretty necklace and a lovely card :F
I love them <3

Freddie got me a very cute chicken teddy. (She was aiming for a pigeon but couldn't find one mom says :P)

And last but not least, Dad got me a lovely set of faerie themed tarot cards :D They're very nice and are even more interesting then I though they were. :)

Oh and I almost forgot. Alan and Raphael's present was a triangular rip in Gracie's face by their dog, Isis.
Mari and I were feeding them and it all went a bit wrong... I now have four teeth marks in one finger. It doesn't hurt though and its very clean. :)

The vet stitched Gracie's gash up very well. Its almost not noticeable now.
And Gracie is even happier now that she's back home.
As they say, "absence makes the heart grow fonder".
("If only that worked on teachers..." as Mari once said :P)

I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner. The internet airport went all funny (again). It always seems to happen when I want to write a post for some odd reason...

That's all I have time for for tonight though.

I'll post again soon!

Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/birthday+cake+presents+"dog+bite"+"roller+skates"+faeries+" rel="tag">birthday cake presents "dog bite" "roller skates" faeries
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-33977739039299046852007-11-01T15:46:00.000-07:002007-11-01T21:53:06.382-07:00Halloween!Hey again,

Halloween was really fun. Me, Mari, Raphael (I spelled it wrong), Théo and little Thomas went trick or treating!
Here are a few pictures:

This is Mari and Raphael. They dressed as vampire-skeletons! It's a great idea if you ask me :P

This is a picture of Isis, Iris and Gracie sitting next to me. :D

And this is a picture of Isis, Iris and Gracie running away from me. Isis already left. :P

We got a load of candy and had a sleep-over. We watched "The nightmare before Christmas" which is one of my favourite movies :D

I also made some cupcakes:

They're supposed to look like they have blood on them. We sort of went half-assed towards the end :P

A rather sad thing happened today. I had cleaned my hamster cage, and was ready to clean the mouse cage where I found the mother mouse and one of her children had passed away :(
My mom thinks the mother may have left that poor baby mouse to die because it had a disease. The mother may have caught the disease off of him/her.
I think the mother mouse may have just died of old age. She was fully grown when Mari got her last Christmas. Maybe she just hung on until she knew her babies could look after themselves. Meaning they could eat whole foods. And she left that other mouse because he/she was the smallest one. Mother mice often do that.
Whether the baby died of disease or because it was the smallest, it was the mother instinct to leave it I suppose...

But luckily the babies are doing fine so far. They're all eating whole food and running around a bit. I put them near the fireplace to keep a bit warm. I can hear them now :P
I'll keep checking back on them every couple of hours in the day. They'll be OK I hope...

This is the smallest one living. I'm glad he/she is eating :D

They're so cute aren't they?

It's my Thirteenth birthday in 1 day and 11 hours and 43 minutes. Just in case anyone forgot :P (only joking)
I think it will be really fun. Mom keeps saying stuff like "there might have been a package for you today" or "Someone not from the family, that you don't expect is getting you something" I don't know whether she's trying to trick me or not! But it's fun nevertheless :D

I won't be getting a pigeon this year mom says, though I really want one. I find them really cool. Here are a few pictures of random pigeons:

I find these pigeons beautiful. They're called Victorian Crowned Pigeons. The name suits them well :P

I like white pigeons a lot. I love how their eyes show up brighter.

This is an 8" long stuffed pigeon. I found it randomly :P

**Note to mom, this is not a "hint" of any kind, I'm just bored and like these photos**

I've just updated The Pet Timez so please have a look at it :)

That's all I have time for for tonight. I'll update in a few days :)

Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/Pigeons+Halloween+Skeletons+Dogs+Mice+"Birthday+Countdown"+"The+Pet+Timez"+" rel="tag">Pigeons Halloween Skeletons Dogs Mice "Birthday Countdown" "The Pet Timez"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-88718069782745825932007-10-28T14:17:00.000-07:002007-10-29T01:31:53.613-07:00I'm back!I finally finished with my NeoVision contest entry so I finally have time to write a post!

It took many tries for me to enter the NeoVision contest but Thomas and I found out how to Upload it to NeoPets. Here's what the final project looks like on YouTube:

I did everything myself besides most of the editing which was by Thomas. Please tell me what you think. :D

There's a thing called the Cookie Crumbles Contest going on on YouTube and we've entered it.
Here's our video:

Five finalists have been chosen and I'm about 99.999 percent sure that one particular video was chosen.
I want to tell you all that the five finalists aren't allowed to announce themselves. I can't remember when the winner will be chosen but it's soon :)

I entered a video as well but it was taken off because I was making fun of this lady:

My video:

Heres some of my replies to random comments:

Random person (Probably the lady) : "What a sad family effort to submarine someone else's contest entry. Good values you're teaching these kids."

Me: "Family effort? This is just me and (sort of) my mom's video. Theres no "family effort" in it what so ever.

Is it a crime for kids to make fun of adults? This lady, whoever she is, obviously treats children like they're objects. I highly doubt she ever treated her children (if she had any) like real people. Most parents don't even have normal conversations with their children...

I have my own mind unlike most children. I can make decisions by my self if I decide to. I decided to make fun of this woman because I think her explination of cookies is wrong and because I wanted to try out my long forgotten Katharine Hepburn imitation :P

Just because I have a sense of humour doesn't mean my mom is raising me, or any of my sisters "improperly"."

(She doesn't reply)

-------------

She sent this today:
Subject: Not shouting, just talking
Ok, so I figure my beef is with you and not yr Mom. I finally managed to watch the whole 8+ minutes, b/c I want to be fair. I still think the only thing you're making fun of is the speaker. If you were going to make fun of what she was saying, you'd need to alter the text, or perform specific words with even greater emphasis. So, why make fun of the speaker? From the post at your video site, I think it's b/c "The Cookie Lady" sounds condescending. But if you're commenting on tone, you need to have a tone of your own. The Katherine Hepburn voice is a charicature (sic) of an old woman, not a condescending one. It's not meant to be flattering, right? So I assume it's meant to be insulting. But I know that I don't know what you're thinking. I would like to know.
I told your mom, I think mouthy broads need to stick together, and that's why I keep talking.

Me:
Oh I see. My moms too big of a challenge for you to take on so you decided the 12 year old would be better. Whatever makes you more comfortable...

What I was thinking was that "The Cookie Lady" (as you re-describe her) Was being VERY condescending to all viewers. It made me feel like I was back at my French school if you must know. Where they talked to me like I had never been to school before and had never heard a word of French. I don't think anyone should talk or be talked too like that. "The Cookie Lady" should change her form of speech in my opinion. The optimistic vibe was OK but the way she looked at the viewers through the camera and the way she waved her arms about was extremely annoying. And the bookshelf in the background was both distracting and irritating.

I was not offending her as I said before. She shouldn't take it so personally. And I didn't need to alter the text because it was good enough already. I liked how it went on for so long. It was good for my Katherine Hepburn imitation. It sounded like an old person who never stops talking :P
Thats not to offend "The Cookie Lady". She went on to explain. Really old people go on just because.

Anyway I think I have said enough.
I have more important stuff to be getting on with...

-Meadhbh.
--------

That's all.

I'll update my blog again in a couple of days. I hope you enjoy reading my writing as usual!
Tags: "The Cookie Lady" "Cookie Crumbles Contest" NeoPets "NeoVision Contest Entry"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-80707946636148622262007-10-18T13:21:00.000-07:002007-10-18T23:57:43.170-07:00Pumpkin carving!Yesterday we got four pumpkins and I carved two of them :D Here is a photo of them:

They look better when you seem them properly :/ I'll probably take more pictures of them anyway. :F

We have had a LOT of animals in our house since I last posted. Here are a few pictures of them:

You can read all about them on the PetTimez.
They're so cute :D

Today I made a really bad pumpkin pie. I think I did a mistake copying it from the computer. It had way too much liquid in it D:
But tomorrow I'm going to make an apple pie and hopefully it will be good :D (I'll take some pictures too.)

I'm going to work harder on the neovision contest tomorrow. I only have until the 28th of October and I want to submit a couple days early. I think I'll be able to do it as long as I try :)

Me and my mom had a fight with PeTA through emails. It's really stupid and funny and I think I'll post it tomorrow :P
I now hate PeTA and will be making "I hate PeTA" badges. I'll swap the humane mouse trap info with it :D

I will update this blog layout over the next week. I like changing layouts :P

Well that's all for today. I'll be posting soon about the next set of pumpkins in a few days :D
Tags: "Apple Pie" Dogs Hamsters "I Hate PeTA" "Blogger Layout"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-34515990864399053532007-10-12T12:54:00.000-07:002007-10-12T13:35:28.426-07:00Hey everyone. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. I'm doing a thing on neopets called neovision. I have to make a Halloween themed video and I'll show you it when I'm done. If I win you'll see extremely long post of Celebration. I'm making my video completely different to all the others (I'm hoping). I know thousands of people will do trick or treating for example so I'm keeping well away from that.

Anyway, I looked more closely at the bee hive tunnel thing in our garden and was that the bees are taking things from the hole in the ground. They fly out with little stone like objects that I can't really see and then fly away (all in different directions for some reason). I really can't figure out what it could be. It sorta looks like sugar but I don't think it is. Its near two plums and a cherry tree. And theres a lot of mole holes around.

I also made a REALLY good apple pie the other day (if I may say so myself :P). I think next time 'll take the skin of the apples off though :P And I'll take a picture :D

Moving on, I must get back to Neopets, a have guild members waiting and a Neovision contest ideas to work on So I have a lot to do.

I'll be posting a longer message on the weekend probably.

Oh yeah and Thomson has been spotted fighting the Neighbours cat that we have been trying to cure for months because she has a hurt eye. Our cat always loses to theirs says our other Neighbour who feeds everyones cat. I love the cat Thomson is fighting. She looks like a pirate :P

Heres a picture of a glow in the dark rabbit!

It suppose to be art :/ They put some jellyfish DNA in her from what I understood. And she doesn't glow all of the time, only in some light. But still I don't think its a good idea to mix animal DNA for art work.

Thats all I have time for. For now anyway. Keep checking back :DMeadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-88992561256499073642007-10-06T14:46:00.000-07:002007-10-07T00:31:30.019-07:00Bee and hamster pics, interesting science information etc.Today I took a picture of the bee-hive in the ground. Just so you all know, I zoomed in. I'm not stupid enough to go really close to them. What if the flash was on? At one point, actually, I convinced myself that I was about to use flash and ended up making a rather embarrassing video that was quickly erased. :P
Anyway here are my photos:

The bees aren't that big really but there are loads of them (obviously). My dog Iris was trying to warn us and kept barking at us when we came near :P Se so cute.

Me and my little sister took my hamsters out into the parking place around the church today. The parking place has about a 5 by 10 meter space of grass with a tree in the center. We couldn't play with the hamsters in our garden because our dog Iris was a little too interested in the hamsters. Anyway, we took a bunch of photos and I think they're pretty cute:

As they would, my hamsters stuffed their cheeks with food when they realized we were leaving which was very cute. Dookie took a nap when she found a comfortable place, and Dakota almost went down another rodent's burrow. I was lucky to pull her out before it was too late :D

I (meaning my mom) found a really cool article on plants communicating with each other! Its really amazing! I love science :P You should have a look around that site. I found many cool things :D

I also found a youtube video on Fainting Goats. Its a really funny video and it explains this species of goat more simply than other sites I've tried :)

Well that's all I have time for at the moment. Be sure to check out the new layout I made on The Pet Timez. I've chosen an Autumn look to suit the season :)
I'll be updating this blog layout soon :D

That's all.

Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/"fainting+goats"+hamsters+"swarming+bees"+"talking+plants"" rel="tag">"fainting goats" hamsters "swarming bees" "talking plants"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-87353674862472999062007-10-04T13:05:00.000-07:002007-10-05T01:40:32.087-07:00Hamsters, Paris, interesting stuff etc.I went to Paris a couple of days ago with my mom and step-dad. We were going to a furniture fashion show. It was animal furniture so I wasn't at ALL interested. But I did enjoy going out into Paris and seeing the beautiful buildings and stuff. And the dinner I had was good, I had salmon. We cook it all the time so it was nothing special. I liked it anyway though :D

I made a new guild (club) on NeoPets and its going quite well. A lot of people have joined and they seem to like it. I would send you a link to my brilliant guild homepage but You'd all have to make neopets accounts and it would be kinda ridiculous :P

I did some more posting on The Pet Timez.
so do read it. Its about the mice and hamsters and stuff :)

My little sister went for a walk with my step-father and two dogs in the woods and they found this deformed conker shell with 26 little conkers in it. I took a picture to show you all:

The leaves here are all brown, yellow and orange and it's already turning into Autumn here. I can't wait until pumpkin carving starts :D I'm rather good at it :D I'll put some pictures up when I do start carving (in a couple of weeks). It's very nice in the morning here because the air smells of Halloween and it's brilliant at about sunset time because it looks like Halloween in Massachusetts for a moment :D
As you can probably tell I love Autunm :D

I changed around the front room a couple of days ago and was cutting some bamboo from the back of the garden to put in a vase and suddenly I was swarmed with loads of bees coming from a bee-hive in the ground! It was so scary. My dog had been stung and had long since run to the house. I didn't get stung but bees in the ground are one of my few fears. Well at the time it is anyway. I'll upload a picture tomorrow of the bees. Swarming.

Well that's all for now really. I'll write another long post in a couple of days so Keep checking back :D

Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/Autumn+Neopets+"odd+conker"+Paris+"swarming+bees"" rel="tag">Autumn Neopets "odd conker" Paris "swarming bees"
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-56570682988129987832007-09-29T07:58:00.000-07:002007-09-29T08:42:29.946-07:00Autumn is here!I have joined a blog called The Pet Times With a girl called Jenna most of you don't know. Please have a look at it to see the latest updates on my and Jenna's pets :D

It was the first day of Autumn the other day and my hamsters have already started hibernating! Heres some photos of Dakota! (Skinny was sleeping, photos of her to come)

And heres a list of hamsters' Christmas wishes :P

Monsieur Balzac was seen twice since I last posted. Once near the compost one once eating his food. We all know now that our punishment from bringing other dogs here will be over soon.

Me and my mom were looking at a really cool wind up computer on the internet:

Its brilliant because if you buy one another one will be sent to kids in other countries that can't afford it :( :D

I as have updated my neopets userlookup graphics page! I know this isn't that important to most of you but click it anyway. I made them all by myself :D

I had to work out a really hard math question for my math homework. "A pyramid has a square base and all edges are 100 meters long.
What is its volume?"
We worked it out and the answer is 707105 meters long... I think... And I also found out how to solve cryptograms! Its super fun. There are 12 rules. You can read more about math on my teacher (who I've never met)'s Blog. He is brilliant at math.

Well thats all I have to say for now. I'll update in a couple of days :DMeadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-9243934726604454802007-09-20T06:47:00.001-07:002007-10-04T13:31:36.321-07:00Animals, jobs and other stuff.I was looking through some pictures on my computer and I decided to put some cute and funny pictures of the animals we have in our house just so you get an idea of what they look like if I write about them.
My hamsters in the bedroom hut thing.

This is Potcha (A.K.A. Fatty) who sadly passed away when I was on holiday :( But she lived a happy life eating sleeping and running of her wheel :) Fatty was the first of the three hamsters to discover the bedroom hut thing.

This is Dookie (A.K.A. Skinny) who was the first of all three hamsters to discover the wheel. She loves storing food in her cheeks and her favourite game that she played with fatty was storing as much food as possible in her cheeks and trying to move it back to the food bowl while Fatty tried to get all the food to their bedroom hut thing.

This is Dakota. She is the youngest of all three hamsters and was the first to climb the roof of the cage like Spiderman. She enjoys the pleasant squeaking of the giant red, yellow and green wheel at 2 am every day and often picks fights with Skinny if she doesn't have anything to chew on like a carrot.

This is Thomson. (A.K.A Monsieur Balzac (Balzac is a French writer :P)) We didn't actually mean to get him. We were looking for a cat and someone gave him to us after we had already found a cat. The other cat moved with his real owners (we think). He looked just like Thompson but was gray instead of ginger. At the moment Thompson is trying to teach us a lesson for bring Iris's mother (Isis) to our house, and he is now not coming back for about another month or so. Be does this every time another dog comes over :S

This is Iris. She is our newest dog. She will be a year old in a couple of weeks. She loves playing and loves attention. When we feed the dogs Iris goes to Gracie's bowl, takes a huge mouth-full of dog food and flings it across the room so she can eat it while Gracie eats her food. Iris enjoys barking at the statue of Mary and Jesus near the church,

Protecting the house from everything(including us), biting her tail, running and licking herself then coming to lick my face while I sleep :/ (It's so horrible!).

This is Gracie. She has been living with us for about 8 - 9 years and is always counted as one of the family :D She enjoys taking walks in the woods, barking at other dogs, racing other dogs, jumping in ponds then jumping on our beds and lazing around. There are balls of her hair all around the house and they often look like tumbleweeds if there is a draft going through the house. (My mom often says our house is like a wind tunnel :P)

The jobs and stuff I've done over the last couple of days:
I spent the weekend in Paris :D
I cleaned my hamster cage.
I cleared out the closet under the stairs then painted it.
I (and my sister) beat many bosses in the video game I'm playing :P
I have and am going to help paint and decorate my sister's bedroom (my room is next).
I cleaned my room (many times).
I took the dogs for a walk (many times).
I did many layouts for other people:
http://neopets.com/~xxsuper_graphicsxx
I did a lot of work on the computer.
I made two cakes with my sister.
I freed the mice!
I helped reload the humane mouse traps.

Tags: Hamsters, Mice, Dogs, Cats, Balzac, Hunter S Thompson, Fatty RIP
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-77608364318975871932007-09-09T09:18:00.000-07:002007-09-09T09:20:35.063-07:00Technorati ProfileTechnorati Profile

Tags: Meadhbh Maonaigh, Unschooling, France, Animals
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8505368919062837418.post-71194441933509231122007-09-08T13:15:00.000-07:002008-12-10T06:44:26.171-08:00The Circus
Yesterday I went to the circus with my mom to have a look at how the animals here in France were treated. We heard they treated the animals really badly and wanted to see for ourselves, so we could know what we were talking about if or when we repeated it to other people (We took our camera so I can show you some pictures and clips). Here's my review on the day:
The circus was as bad as I expected, especially with how they treated the lions. Throughout the whole show you could hear the lions and the tigers crying and moaning over the loud music playing in the circus tent. The ring master was whipping the lions (and other animals) while they preformed, and I felt really sad seeing the lions give each other a comforting nudge every time they passed each other. The ring master was pretending he as in charge of the lions (my mom gave the example of a owner saying sit after their dog sat) and towards the end of the lions' art of the show the lion who just had a newly born cub started getting really angry with the ring master. She looked like she wanted to rip his head off... But the part of that day that made everything ten times worse was that my dog cried while we re-watched the tape of the lions :
The other bad part of the day was how the crowd acted. As you probably guessed, the whole crowd was parents and grandparents with their kids but it was how the parents acted that made no sense. First of all they let their little children sit in the front row where they can't run away fast enough if anything unexpected happens (which did happen, more in a minute). Then it was the way they kept clapping and cheering and laughing as if they had never set foot outside their doorstep or seen anything remotely funny in their lives. Then it was how they let their children touch the horses and camels who would have probably bitten them or spat on them if it wasn't for the whip the ring master had. Then they didn't even move back when the Yak came into the ring with their huge horns that could have badly hurt any of the children if they had lowered their heads. And finally near the ending of the show, one of the medium sized yaks went crazy, and crashed into the metal railings that were used when the lions were preforming and a lady, about 10 meters away from the yak, didn't even pick up or move her baby to protect it, as if she stupidly thought nothing could harm her baby, and most of the rest of the crowed pretended nothing was happening at all.
The funniest part was when they had a five minute break where they sold flashing lights and let you take a picture with the newly born lion cub (the cub's mom was crying). A lady was walking past me and my mom and (it was one of those times when everyone's looking at someone) and her two year old child pushed the crêpe (pancake) she was holding. At first he yelled at the kid (which drew more attention to her) then she picks up the crêpe which was lying flat on the Car park floor, she put it back on her plate (without even looking to see whether anyone saw her) then she goes to sit down and starts feeding it to her little boy and herself. Those crêpes must of cost her a fortune for her to do that. Here's a short list of what she and her son ate that evening: Animal poo and pee, Hobo pee, cigarette ash, vomit, dust from the ring (it went everywhere), grime, dirt, gravel, etc. etc.

Here are some pictures of the camels that I find really sad:

Tags: Circus, Lions, Animal Cruelty, France, French Circuses, French Circuses Still Use Animals, Horrible Mother Feeds 2yr.old crêpe dropped on disgusting parking lot floor, Yak Runs Amok At Cirque Muller
Meadhbh Maonaighhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17044146946148059264noreply@blogger.com2
